Dr. Hagen received his M.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1975 and completed his family practice residency at the University of Missouri in 1978. He participated in a three-man group practice in rural southwest Missouri for three years prior to joining the faculty in 1982. In 1989, he completed a National Library of Medicine postdoctoral fellowship in clinical decision-making and medical informatics at Tufts University. He is a former President of the American Board of Family Practice.
Dr. Hagen currently serves as Project Director for the Computer-based assessment project of the American Board of Family Practice. His additional research interests include cost-effectiveness and decision analysis of common problems in primary care, discrete event simulation, continuous quality improvement, and clinical guideline development. |
