Dr. Emmett completed four years at the University of Kentucky and was accepted
to the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry on early admission.
During her time at UAB, she completed special rotations at Perry Eye and Vision,
Sarrell Eye and Dental, Callahan Eye Institute- Clinical Low Vision Rehabilitation
and Commonwealth Eye Surgery. She has participated in multiple mission trips
including locations such as Knoxville, TN, Geeís Bend, AL and Granada,
Nicaragua. While at the school of optometry, Dr. Emmett was Vice President
of the Class of 2009, the American Optometric Student Association Equipment
Chair and the Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society Treasurer. She
is currently a member of the American Optometric Association, the American
Academy of Optometry and Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity. |
