General Patient Instructions

Patients who have never been seen by any physician at the University of Kentucky Medical Center need to arrive 20-30 minutes prior to the scheduled appointment time for the registration process. All patients need to bring an insurance card and a list of any and all medications they are currently taking, as well as the dose of each medication. Health insurance cards accepted: We accept UK HMO, Humana, United Healthcare, and CHA. However, we advise patients to call their insurance companies to confirm that the UK Otolaryngology Clinic is in their network. Referral needed? It is not necessary to have a referral from your doctor to make an appointment. However, if an insurance referral is needed, it is the patient's responsibility to get the referral from his or her primary care physician.
