Research

Medical students can learn about research methodologies and study design in the Emergency Department. As a one month course working with an Emergency Medicine faculty member, the student will develop a question, research the available knowledge in the literature and construct a research project designed to answer the question. Projects can be designed as a prospective or retrospective study utilizing chart review or the various databases available such as the UK Trauma Registry or the KY Injury Prevention and Research Center. The course format is flexible and does not require any specific clinical responsibilities in the Emergency Department.

Course Offering: ER 853
Title: Research in Emergency Medicine
