WELCOME!

Welcome to the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Kentucky. The last few years have certainly been some of the most exciting ones in the department's thirty year history. We are proud that our residency program is flourishing and expanding as is our faculty. In addition, in the summer of 2010 we moved into our new Chandler Emergency Department and the adjacent McKenna David Pediatric Emergency Care Center. In this "state of the art" 40,000 square foot ED, we have seen our annual patient volume grow from about 50,000 to over 70,000 in two years. As the major tertiary and quaternary care referral center for central, southern and eastern Kentucky, this adult and pediatric facility is an outstanding training environment for our EM residents and students in the College of Medicine. We invite you to learn more about why Lexington, KY is a wonderful place to live and the Department of Emergency Medicine is a great place to train in Emergency Medicine.
