Greetings and welcome to the University of Kentucky internal medicine residency program web site! We appreciate your interest in our program, and hope you will consider interviewing with us, you will be glad you did. The purpose of a residency program is to help you become the best doctor you can be. We want you to not only "get through" residency, but to thrive, to flourish, to become the incarnation of that image of the great doctor you nourish in your heart (for me, it was Hawkeye on MASH, albeit a surgeon). We are so blessed to be in such a sacred profession, but with that blessing comes the responsibility to be the best doctor you can be, your patients will expect nothing less, and they deserve nothing less. We are here to help you in that journey, it's a sometimes challenging road, with any residency comes some hard times, some hard challenges, but working together the ride will be exhilarating, and the final destination golden.
