How and When Do You Get Your Money
FUNDS ARE DISBURSED AS FOLLOWS:
Federal William D. Ford Direct Loans, scholarships awarded by the College of Dentistry or the University, and other school-managed funds (Health Professions Loans, Perkins Loans, and others) will be credited directly to your tuition account by the University of Kentucky Student Billings Services. If the credited amount EXCEEDS the amount owed for tuition, the University will issue you a residual check for the difference. This check will be automatically deposited into an predetermined account you have set up by completing the Automatic Deposit Form Student Billings Services will ask you to complete. This document will accompany your Financial Aid Award Letter that will be mailed to you the first week in May. If the amount credited is LESS than the tuition owed, you must pay the balance.
NOTE: Students should plan to have some funds available to provide for living expenses, book and supply purchases, etc. during the first few weeks in the event that loan checks do not arrive on time. Because of the many steps in the loan application process and the many agencies that play a part in the actual disbursement of funds, delays (although rare) may and sometimes do occur.
