Highlights from 2010 Annual Dinner

On September 7, 2010 at the Marriott Griffin Gate, the University of Kentucky Sanders-Brown Center on Aging Foundation hosted their annual dinner for the 24th time. That year, close to 600 people filled the room to hear the keynote speaker Mr. Jim Host and to raise money for research and additional needs of the center and the fight against cognitive diseases.  Mr. Host is the founding chairman of the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games and the founder, former chairman and CEO of Host Communications.  Mr. Host spoke about his love for the Commonwealth as well as the excitement of the upcoming 2010 World Equestrian Games.  However, the room was all ears as Mr. Host spoke of his personal connection with Alzheimer’s disease.  He was very open and honest about his Mothers’ ongoing battle with Alzheimer’s and the effects it has on the lives of the family members.
