the role of oxidative stress, particularly DNA oxidation, in the pathogenesis of neuron degeneration in Alzheimer’s disease brain; (2) the role of disruption of zinc homeostasis in AD; and (3) the application of quantitative proteomics to identify differences in protein expression in mitochondria isolated from control subjects, early AD subjects, subjects with Mild Cognitive Impairment and late-stage AD subjects.
