Our research goal is to establish the best model of ovarian follicle rupture, which will best explain the roles of individual genes involved in the ovulatory process and help us in developing the best strategies to overcome infertility problems as well as in designing better and safer contraceptives. The key to the success in developing the model is to find important but still unidentified ovulation-related genes and to define their roles in the ovary.
Various molecular approaches such as differential mRNA display, subtraction cloning, DNA microarray
and transgenic animals are used.
