Needs Assessment Survey Documentation of Need
In the fall of 2003, a survey was sent to all Kentucky Hospital
Human Resource Executives with a request that they ask their allied
health professionals with an associate degree to complete a short
questionnaire regarding the desirability of establishing a
baccalaureate degree program in Clinical Leadership and Management,
the likelihood of their attendance, and their opinion regarding a
distance learning option. Ninety-five responses were tabulated from
registered nurses, respiratory therapists, medical laboratory
technicians, radiological technicians, business personnel, and a
nuclear medicine technician. Of those who responded 90% either strongly agreed
(77%) or agreed (13%) that, “The establishment
of a program in Clinical Leadership and Management is a good idea.”
In addition, 84% indicated they would consider attending on a part-time
basis and 32% indicated they would consider attending on a full-time
basis. Seventy six percent expressed interested in distance
learning. Personal comments from the respondents were overwhelmingly positive. |
