			PHYSICIAN TO PHYSICIAN SERVICES The easiest way for you, as a physician, to reach a physician at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center is by using the toll-free UK·MDs number. UK·MDs allows you to consult with Medical Center clinical staff physicians regarding routine or difficult diagnoses, discuss new or alternative treatment modalities, make patient referrals, follow patient progress and discuss post-discharge care. To use UK·MDs, just call 1-800-888-5533. A physician liaison will quickly route your call to the physician, department, division or clinical service you request. The medical director of UK·MDs is Carol Steltenkamp, M.D., Assistant Professor of Pediatrics. If you wish to speak to Dr. Steltenkamp regarding the service, a physician liaison will be glad to connect you, during regular business hours. UK·MDs welcomes your comments, requests or suggestions on how we may better serve you. FACSIMILE SERVICE The centralized facsimile service affords the referring physician the ease of sending an exact copy of a document to the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center's clinical and hospital departments for immediate delivery. You can transmit patient information, signatures and order forms, continuing medical education and library requests, treatment protocols and patient education information toll-free. THE UK CHILDREN'S TRANSPORT SERVICE The U.K. Children's Hospital Transport Service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It provides safe and rapid access for critically ill infants and children to services at the University of Kentucky Children's Hospital. Well known for many years for its high quality, specialized neonatal transportation, the service was expanded in 1999 to transport newborns, infants and children of all sizes and ages. The U.K. Children's Hospital Transport Service is organized by the Department of Emergency Transport / Air Medical Services (1-800-777-8537). Our specifically equipped ambulances and helicopters are staffed with specially trained transport nurses and paramedics with backgrounds in pediatrics, neonatology, pediatric critical care and emergency transport. In addition to providing pediatric critical care transportation, our staff is actively involved in outreach education to hospitals throughout Kentucky.
