Join
the UK Children's Hospital Tab Recycling Project
Join
hundred of individuals, organizations and businesses who save tabs from
soda cans to benefit the University of Kentucky Children's Hospital.
In the nearly two years that this program has been in operation, more
than $10,000 has been raised to benefit the children and their families
being served by the UK Children's Hospital.
Funds from the tab project help purchase toys and equipment for
the Child Life Program.
By starting a collection program in your home, work, church or school,
you
easily can help us raise funds
and awareness for children and families in medical need. The program is
easy. Save your tabs in a collection canister
(anything from plastic milk jugs
to coffee canisters work well). When the
canister is full, take it to the
Fund Development office at 939 S.
Limestone or to the mailbox room
located at H195. A project coordinator then prepares the millions of
tabs to be recycled for a donation. Depending on aluminum recycling rates, 1,000 pounds of tabs raises
approximately $500 for the UK
Children's Hospital. With dedicated collectors like you, it adds up
quickly.
Please
encourage your church, civic or school groups to participate. If you
have any questions, please call Loralyn Cecil at (859) 257-1121.
Recycle
Ink Cartridges to Benefit UK Children's Hospital
Did you
know that you can support the University of Kentucky Children's Hospital
program with TRASH? Helping support the UK Children's Hospital is easy
through the year-round program, "Trash into Cash." Turn in
your ink cartridges for recycling through JD Tech Solutions and benefit
the UK Children's Hospital. The following guides should get you on your
way:
-
Types
of cartridges acceptable for recycling promotion include ink jet,
laser and toner cartridges;
-
Each
time you replace a cartridge, either at work or home, place the old,
used cartridge in the box of your new replacement;
-
Take
your used cartridge to the loading dock of materials management in
UK Hospital (room HA061);
-
For
each cartridge turned in, JD Tech Solutions will make a donation
to the UK Children's Hospital.
The
faculty, staff and patients of UK Children's Hospital appreciate your
participation. If you have any questions about the "Trash into
Cash" program, please call Loralyn Cecil at (859) 257-1121 in Fund
Development office.
