Health-Related Resources Available via Proxy Server
Major Health Databases: MEDLINE, HealthSTAR, CINAHL, PsycInfo, AGELINE, Biological Abstracts, Current Contents. (all accessed via SilverPlatter).
Electronic Journals: Approximately 12,000 journals can be accessed from the interdisciplinary Electronic Journals Database. Full-text articles from a large number of health sciences journals can be obtained via the proxy.
MD Consult: A full-text product that provides access to medical reference books, medical journals, drug information, clinical practice guidelines, patient education information, and continuing education credits.
Evidence-Based Medicine Resources: The Cochrane Library contains systematic reviews on the effects of health care and a large controlled trials register.
Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe: provides nearly 5,000 publications (most full-text, the rest abstracted) covering news, financial, medical, and legal information. The service covers newspapers, magazines, wire services, federal and state court opinions, federal and state statutes, federal regulations, and SEC filings.
Scientific American Medicine Online: A text of internal medicine that is thoroughly referenced to the primary literature. It is updated monthly and contains more than 2,000 color graphics and illustrations. It can searched by keyword or browsed by Table of Contents.
Web of Science: Contains an electronic backfile for the past 10 years of Science Citation Index Expanded, Social Sciences Citation Index, and Art & Humanities Citation Index. Searches can be done for keywords, author names, journal titles or cited references. Access is for a maximum of five (5) simultaneous users.
