Nuclear Cardiology

During the nuclear rotation, trainees will perform exercise and pharmacological stress testing in the morning. Nuclear images from the stress tests or from MUGA are then obtained by certified technicians. The images will then be processed and read in the afternoon with an attending. More than 200 nuclear studies are performed each block at Gill Heart Institute and Veteran's hospital. Cardiovascular fellows have the opportunity to become board certified in nuclear cardiology.
