Description: A detailed listing of databases containing alternative medicine content, located at this site, which was created by Charles B. Wessel, Falk Library of the Health Sciences, University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Some are fee based, others are publicly accessible. An annotation is provided for each listing describing the content of each of the databases.

Description: Supported by a grant from the Medical Acupuncture Research Foundation, Acubriefs purports to offer the most comprehensive gathering of up-to-date acupuncture references available. In addition to the bibliographic database, an online acupuncture reference manual is available as well as a reference to a Chinese translation service.

Description: CAIRSS is a citation database of music research literature covering 1,354 journals. Articles cover music education, music psychology, music therapy, and music medicine.

Description: Another free database, CAMPAIN is, likewise, a bibliographic database produced by the Center for Integrative Medicine. Comprehensive electronic and hand searches of the scientific literature comprise this database on CAM for pain.

Description: Compiled by the Therapeutic Research Center, the Natural Medicines Comprehensive Database is evidence-based and was designed for health care professionals to fill the void of available literature in the mid 1990’s. It is purported to be the gold standard database in its field.
