The uniqueness of this project was its goal of permanent culture change, e.g. not allowing faculty and staff to slide back into old habits. This has been accomplished by:
Constant reinforcement - leadership gets updates at several different meetings
Peer pressure - Department Chairs see other's reports for comparison of entire group practice.
Summary reports of dashboard indicators created to accurately track activity

Purchased vendor software to allow physicians to submit charges via a pocket PC or palm device
Created rounding lists from census data for physician access to bed location and patient demographics

Pilot completed - rollout to remaining clinic settings in Spring 2005
