PRODUCTIVITY STANDARDS

Listed below are productivity standards that have been established for University of Kentucky BIRCWH Scholars.  The standards are guidelines to ensure that Scholars remain on track for attaining independent funding within 2 to 3 years after beginning the BIRCWH Program.

The BIRCWH Program funds MD Scholars for up to three years and PhD Scholars generally for up to two years. However, special consideration will be given to PhD Scholars engaged in clinical research. Their participation may be extended to three years. Submission of quarterly reports is required of all Scholars. The information on the quarterly reports should reflect the Scholar’s progress in meeting these standards. The standards reflect expectations of research activity based on the level of support from the BIRCWH Program and the anticipated baseline skill levels of Scholars selected for the program. When necessary, we will discuss adjustments to these productivity standards for individual Scholars.
