The University of Kentucky Center in Biomedical Excellence (COBRE)
in the Molecular Basis of Human Disease will again make available two
pilot research grants to start on August 1, 2007. These pilot grants
are intended to assist young investigators or investigators changing
fields to generate sufficient data to apply for extramural funding.
They are awarded in the amount of up to $50,000 per year for two years.
To be eligible for these pilot grants, the individual cannot have or
have had an RO1 type NIH grant or the equivalent NSF grant. Individuals
who have or have had other types of grants such as NIH K or R21 awards
