About TRY-IT!

The University of Kentucky, Department of Behavioral Science in collaboration with the Kentucky Community and Technical College System and the Explorium of Lexington (science museum) was awarded a five year grant from the National Center for Research Resources, NIH (Grant Number: R25-RR0233004) to encourage minority and underrepresented middle school students to consider careers in biomedical science.

The first cohort of students was recruited in summer 2007. Currently, 38 students and 10 teachers at three Fayette County middle schools are participating in the program.
