Research Interests

Dr Morris’s research group is broadly interested in roles for glycero and sphingo phospholipids in cell signaling and metabolism. This research encompasses a range of complementary approaches including genetics, biochemistry, cell, molecular and chemical biology and the use of model organisms including mice. Specific current areas of interest include investigations into the production, actions and inactivation of bioactive lysophospholipid mediators in the cardiovascular system and the role of lipid phosphatases in the synthesis of glycerophospholipids, triglycerides, isoprenoids and sterols.
