Dr. Tim Uhl was a speaker at Canisius College in Buffalo, New York on February 27, 2007.  His lecture was entitled "Assessment and Management of Scapular Dysfunction in Shoulder Injuries".

Dr. Tim Butterfield joins the faculty at the University of Kentucky, July 1 2007.

Dr. Jennifer Medina and Dr. Pat McKeon join the faculty in the Division of Athletic Training at the University of Kentucky, August 1, 2007.

Dr. Tim Uhl was the Keynote speaker at IVth Congress of Association
of Sport Physiotherapists, Yıldız Technical University (Central Campus) Oditorium, Yıldız, Besiktas - Istanbul, Turkey  in October 2007
His presentations included : “Current Considerations of Scapular Dyskinesis
Assessment and Interventions for Shoulder Injuries” and  “Rehabilitation of Scapular Dyskinesis”

2006

Jim Madaleno was featured in this audio clip "UK At The Half" halftime of the UK - U. Mass Basketball Game.  In this piece he highlights Athletic Training / Sports Medicine at UK. 

Dr. Tim Uhl and the Musculoskeletal Laboratory are featured as Clinical Research Highlight.  

Dr. Carl Mattacola assumed the duties of Editor in Chief of the Journal of Sport Rehabilitation in January of 2007.

The Master of Science proposal in Athletic Training was approved at The University Senate November 13, 2006.  

Dr. Tim Uhl and Tracy Spigelman receive funding from the USA Swimming Science & Technology Grant Title: Dry-Land Freestyle swimming: Comparison of Traditional and multi-planar swim benchAmount: $ 14,462.00

Dr. Carl Mattacola and Maureen Dwyer (doctoral student) attended and presented papers at the International Ankle Symposium in Dublin, Ireland August 30-31, 2006

2005

Dr. Uhl gave a presentation during the Closed Shoulder meeting in Saturnia, Italy on Post-surgical Rehabilitation of the Rotator Cuff

Tracey Spigelman (doctoral student) was awarded a $500.00 grant from the Kentucky Athletic Trainers Society

Cale Jacobs, PhD, ATC receives SEATA Research Grant for 2004. 

2004

Keith Webster was awarded the Most Distinguished Athletic trainer award at the NATA Annual Meeting in Baltimore, MD.

2003

Stacy Downar, ATC & Michelle Boling, ATC were each awarded $1,000.00 Osternig Masters' Grants from the National Athletic Trainers Research  Education Foundation. 

Students receive $2000 scholarships from the National Athletic Trainers Association Scholarship committee

David Brajuha was the Educational Software Production Contest Athletic Training Winner for the creation of a CD in collaboration with Tim Uhl titled Core Stability Protocol

Rob Ullery and Bill Welsh were awarded the Board of Certification Service Award

Jim Madaleno, MS, ATC is featured on the UK Athletic Web Site

Keith Webster, MA, ATC is cited in USA TODAY regarding the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)

2002

 

Heather Mattocks (2002) and Dr. Tim Uhl were awarded a research grant from the Lexington Clinic to study Scapular Dyskinesis. 

Michelle Boling (2004) was awarded a NATA Graduate Student Scholarship at the NATA Annual Meeting and Symposium in Dallas Texas.
