Kentucky Homeplace Program

FHCA with clientAbout Homeplace − Residents of rural Kentucky have unusually high levels of certain diseases. These include cancer, heart disease, hypertension, asthma, and diabetes. Lifestyle choices, environmental factors, inadequate health insurance and general lack of understanding of the healthcare system are often cited as contributing to this condition. Kentucky Homeplace was created to help address these issues.

Awards and Recognition − Kentucky Homeplace's proven track record of success has been honored by various national and local organizations over the years.

Improving Diabetes Outcomes − with funding provided by the Anthem Foundation, Kentucky Homeplace will focus even more attention on counseling diabetic clients about the benefits of a healthier lifestyle.

Lung Cancer Research Initiative (pdf) − The University of Kentucky, along with Kentucky Homeplace, is conducting a research study about the relationship between lung cancer and environmental risk factors.
