PGY2 Ambulatory Care Residency

The ambulatory care residency is a one-year specialty residency that includes training in a variety of pharmacist-managed and multidisciplinary clinic settings. Core rotations and longitudinal experiences are in the areas of internal medicine, family practice, and medical subspecialties, including cardiology, infectious disease, and endocrinology. A number of elective clinic rotations are available in the areas of women's health, hematology/oncology, solid organ transplant, as well as emergency medicine.  The primary emphasis of the ambulatory care residency is placed upon the development of clinical practice skills that can be applied to pharmacist-managed, interdisciplinary, or managed care team approaches to patient care.

The resident participates in outcomes research, presents research results at a national meeting, and publishes these findings in a peer-reviewed journal. The resident precepts PharmD students, leads small-group discussions, presents didactic and case-based learning experiences at the College of Pharmacy, and provides inservices for health care providers.
