11/21/2011 - Paul F. Parker Award Winner Announced
Lisa Lawson, PharmD (R#88), was announced as 2011's Paul F. Parker Award Winner. The annual Paul F. Parker Award Reception and Luncheon will be held on Tuesday December 6, 2011 from 11:00am -1pm (Central Time) in the Marriott Convention Center Hotel, Riverbend Room 2, in New Orleans, LA. 9/19/11 - Welcome new Enterprise Director of Pharmacy: Gary Johnson, PharmD, MHA
Dr. Johnson, originally from West Virginia, recently assumed his new role as Enterprise Director of Pharmacy Services and Chief Pharmacy Officer. He will manage Pharmacy Services throughout the health system, which will include UK Chandler Medical Center, Good Samaritan Hospital and the expanding network of Ambulatory Pharmacy Services. Prior to joining UK Healthcare, he served as the Director of Pharmacy Services at the University of Virginia Health System where he also began bridging the gap between UVA and the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Pharmacy by implementing a satellite School of Pharmacy at UVA. Other accomplishments include expanding the size and scope of clinical services, as well as the residency programs, adding 40 FTE's, and implementing a new CPOE system, bar code medication administration, and eMAR technologies.
Additionally, he has worked for Talyst, Inc., Parkview Health System, and the University Hospital’s of Kansas and Cincinnati, as well as Emory Health System. As evidenced by his diverse and strong work background, Dr. Johnson will bring many skill sets to UK HealthCare and help to push our Pharmacy Services to the next level!

Kelly Walsh, PharmD, (R370) was named the Kentucky Society of Health-System Pharmacists (KSHP) Pharmacy Resident of the Year. The award recognizes an individual pharmacy resident for their contribution to the practice of pharmacy through contributions and improvements at their institution/practice site and throughout the state. Congratulations to Craig Martin, PharmD, BCPS, (R284) who was named Pharmacist of the Year by the Kentucky Society of Health-System Pharmacists (KSHP). The award was presented during the 2010 KSHP Annual Meeting in October. This award recognizes an individual pharmacist for his or her leadership, vision, and continuous contribution to the practice of pharmacy

8/15/10 - New Dean for Kentucky College of Pharmacy
Timothy S. Tracy, PhD, former professor and head of the Department of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology at the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy, has been named dean of the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy. Tracy, who also served as the University of Minnesota's director of clinical translational research services at the Clinical and Translational Science Institute, began his post in Lexington on Aug. 15
8/5/2010 Kuhn Receives National Award
Robert Kuhn, PharmD, Professor in the Dept. of Pharmacy Practice and Science at the University ofKentucky College of Pharmacy, PGY2 Pediatric Residency Director, and Associate Director of Pharmacy Services at the Kentucky Children's Hospital has been selected as the 2010 recipient of the Helms Award for Excellence in Pediatric Pharmacy Practice. The award recognizes sustained and meritorious contributions to Pediatric Pharmacy Advocacy Group (PPAG) and to pediatric pharmacy practice and contributions of importance to education, new knowledge and outreach.
