    On Thursday May 10th, Ms. Heather Buechel and Ms Leann Fiore present a 30 minute seminar on their latest research progress. Time is 3 P.M. in MN-463 UKMC. Ms. Buechel’s talk is entitled: “Gray and White Matter Microarray Analysis in Aging and Alzheimer’s Disease”. Faculty Advisor: Dr. Eric Blalock. Ms. Fiore’s talk is entitled: “cABL and ARG Promote Invasion via Lysosomal Degradation of the Metastasis Suppressor, NM-23-H1, by Activating Cathepsins L and B”. Faculty Advisor: Dr. Rina Plattner.

Title of the seminar is “Determining the Mechanisms and Consequences of UV-Induced Signaling in Epidermal Keratinocytes”.

    On Thursday April 26th, Mr. Yiwei Lin, graduate student in Dr. Peter Zhou's laboratory will present a 30 minute seminar on his latest research progress. Time is 3 P.M. in MN-463 UKMC. Title of the seminar is “Doxorubicin Enhances Snail/LSD1-Mediated PTEN Suppression in a PARP1-Dependent Manner”.
  • Two Dissertation Defense Seminars this week: Mr. Jonathan Sims (9 A.M.) and Ms. Jennifer Furman (1 P.M.)

    On Tuesday April 17, the Department of Molecular and Biomedical Pharmacology will host a first seminar, scheduled at 9:00 A.M. in room MN-363. Title of the first seminar is “c-Abl/Arg drive doxorubicin resistance by preventing NF-?B-mediated apopoptosis and activating a HSP27/p38/Akt survival pathway”. The second seminar is scheduled at 1 P.M. in room MN 463. The title of this seminar is "Emerging potential of astrocytes and calcineurin/NFAT signaling in the treatment of alzheimer’s disease”.

  • JOINT SEMINAR: Department of Molecular and Biomedical Pharmacology and the Markey Cancer Center invite Dr. Andrea L. Richardson

    The Department of Molecular and Biomedical Pharmacology together with the Markey Cancer Center will host a seminar to be given by Dr. Richardson, M.D., Ph.D., Associate Professor at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA. The seminar is scheduled for Thursday, April 12th, 2012 in room MN-463 UKMC at 3 PM, and is entitled: “Genomic Predictors of Therapy Response in Cancer”. Dr. Xiuwei Yang is the seminar host.
