Research activities are focused on analyses of basic cellular and molecular mechanisms of brain aging, Alzheimer's disease and memory processes; with particular emphasis on studies of neuronal calcium channels, and the effects of hormones and drugs on brain cells. Research tools include intracellular and patch clamp recording of ion channels, gene microarrays, molecular biology and epigenetics, rapid imaging of intacellular calcium fluxes and behavioral measures of learning and memory.
