CHS Physical TherapyStudents
Lexington Campus Class of 2014
Dear Prospective Physical Therapy Student, As members of the physical therapy class of 2014, we
are excited that you are exploring the opportunities that the University of
Kentucky has to offer through our physical therapy program.
As one of the top physical therapy schools in the nation, we are all
very proud and honored to be apart of this wonderful and rewarding program.
UK does a wonderful job of transitioning its student from the
undergraduate to graduate level with its mentorship program and highly
trained and experienced faculty and staff, who are, as far as we are
concerned, some of the best in the business.
If you asked anyone in our class I’m sure one of the first things
they would tell you that makes our program so unique and amazing is our
outstanding faculty who guides us each and every day academically.
However, our program here at UK is much more than top
tier academics. Believe it or
not, we are all able to have a fun and exciting life outside of PT school
that enriches our graduate experience beyond the academic level.
Many of us are involved in intramural sports year round.
As a class, we have many social activities every semester and make
time for multiple community service opportunities such as serving breakfast
to the homeless downtown and volunteering at God’s Food Pantry.
One unique experience students are able to have here at UK is the
service opportunity to work at our very own Samaritan’s Touch Student PT
Clinic. Every Tuesday and
Thursday of the week students are able to receive hands on experience with
patients who otherwise would not be able to receive proper care.
We have many other wonderful opportunities within our program and the
surrounding area such as the annual Run For Your Life 5k, horse racing at
Keeneland Horse Park, local and national physical therapy symposia, annual
medical mission trips to Ecuador, and many more! The physical therapy program at UK will challenge you
in ways you have never been challenged before and will no doubt bring you to
the state of excellence that all of our graduates reach after the three-year
program. On top of that you will
make long lasting friendships with classmates, professors, and members of
other programs within the College of Health Sciences.
We wish you well in your endeavors as you explore the field of PT and
thank you for looking into our program.
Please feel free to check out the rest of the website pages for more
information. Sincerely, The University of Kentucky Physical Therapy Student
Class of 2014
