Welcome from the Chairman

The University of Kentucky's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology was founded in 1962. Since its beginning, the department has continued to focus on providing outstanding patient care as well as providing an educational atmosphere for the training and education of medical students and residents in the field of obstetrics and gynecology.

The department accomplishes these goals by recruiting faculty who have shown clinical and surgical excellence and also a strong desire for teaching.  The faculty and residents are involved in the advancement of medical science by their involvement in research.  Both basic science and clinical research is conducted within our department or in collaboration with other departments.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is within the University of Kentucky College of Medicine.  The College of Medicine promotes medical student and resident physician education along with clinical service and research.  View more information about the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and view a video by Dean Jay A.
