Training Grant on Nutrition and Oxidative Stress

The Nutrition and Oxidative Stress Training Grant in the Graduate Center for Nutritional Sciences, funded by the National Institutes of Health, seeks to prepare biomedical scientists for academic careers in research focused on nutritionally-relevant problems. The training faculty come from 4 Colleges, 3 Centers, and 11 departments. They have expertise in mechanisms of oxidative stress and nutritional modulation of oxidative stress in cardiovascular disease, cancer, neuroscience/aging, and metabolic disease.

Candidates for pre-doctoral positions must have a bachelor’s or master’s degree. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents of the United States. Interested individuals should contact the program directors:

Interdisciplinary Cardiovascular Training Program

The Interdisciplinary Cardiovascular Training Program at the University of Kentucky, funded by the National Institutes of Health, seeks to prepare bio-medical scientists for academic careers in research by exposing them to the highest quality didactic and laboratory experiences. The training faculty come from four colleges, two centers, 10 departments and the Gill Heart Institute. They have particular expertise in the mechanisms responsible for arrhythmogenesis, arterial blood pressure regulation/hypertension, endothelial function/atherosclerosis and ischemic heart disease/cardiac myocyte function.

Candidates for pre-doctoral positions must have a bachelor’s or master’s degree.  Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents of the United States.  Interested individuals should contact the program directors:
