Undergraduates have poster presentations accepted for SNRS conference

Several undergraduate nursing research intern students have had poster presentations accepted for the Southern Nursing Research Society (SNRS) conference to be held in Galveston, Texas in February 2007.

Ashleigh Ohlmann (senior) and Jenny Baumgardner (junior) are co-authors of a student poster presentation titled, "Factors Related to Asthma Quality of Life for U.S. and Icelandic Adolescents," with colleagues at the University of Iceland. They will present preliminary data from the pilot project. The students are part of Associate Professor Pat Burkhart's research team.

Ohlmann has been a research intern for five semesters, and Baumgardner for two.

Senior Amanda Fallin, who has worked with Associate Professor Debra Anderson for five semesters on her research project, "Workplace Violence Experiences of Homeless Women and Women Residing in Battered Women Shelters" had a poster accepted at SNRS as well. It is titled, "Intimate Partner Violence in the Workplace."

Amber Hoehne, senior, had a poster accepted titled, "Youth Access Laws and Changes in Sources of Tobacco." She is a research intern and has worked for three semesters with Associate Professors Ellen Hahn and Carol Riker.
