Undergraduates have poster
presentations accepted for SNRS conference
Several undergraduate nursing research intern
students have had poster presentations accepted for the Southern
Nursing Research Society (SNRS)
conference to be held in Galveston, Texas in February 2007.
Ashleigh Ohlmann (senior) and Jenny Baumgardner
(junior) are co-authors of a student poster presentation
titled, "Factors Related to Asthma Quality of Life for U.S. and
Icelandic Adolescents," with colleagues at the University of
Iceland. They will present preliminary data from the pilot
project. The students are part of Associate
Professor Pat Burkhart's
research team.
Ohlmann has been a research intern for five
semesters, and Baumgardner for two.
Senior Amanda
Fallin, who has worked with Associate Professor
Debra Anderson
for five semesters on her research project, "Workplace Violence
Experiences of Homeless Women and Women Residing in Battered
Women Shelters"
had a poster accepted at SNRS as well. It is titled,
"Intimate
Partner Violence in the Workplace."
Amber Hoehne,
senior, had a poster accepted titled, "Youth Access Laws and
Changes in Sources of Tobacco." She is a research intern and has
worked for three semesters with Associate Professors
Ellen Hahn and
Carol Riker.
