Ph.D. Program Committee
Functions
- Evaluates program
policies and procedures for compliance with Graduate School
policies.
- Evaluates program
policies and procedures as they facilitate meeting program
objectives and recommends revisions as necessary.
- Implements the evaluation
responsibilities listed in the College of Nursing Evaluation
Plan that pertain to the Ph.D. Program Committee.
- Makes recommendations to
faculty based on program evaluation.
- Evaluates the usefulness
of the College of Nursing Evaluation Plan in relation to the
Ph.D. Program Committee and recommends revisions in the
plan as needed.
- Reviews admission
requirements and recommends changes to the graduate faculty.
- Makes recommendations for
vote to the graduate faculty and reports to the total
faculty.
Membership
- Four faculty members
elected from the faculty, at least three with regular
graduate school status, and one with associate graduate
school status or higher. All faculty must be teaching in the
Ph.D. program. Teaching in the Ph.D. program is
defined as teaching a Ph.D. level course or serving on a
Dissertation Advisory Committee.
- One Ph.D. student,
elected by the members of the Ph.D. student body in
nursing.
- Dean of the College, ex
officio.
- Assistant Dean for
Research & Ph.D. Program, ex officio.
Terms of Office
- All faculty elected to
this committee shall serve staggered two-year terms.
