B.
Functions
-
Governance Council serves as a vehicle for shared
governance within the College on issues such as strategic
planning, evaluation, budget, space, committee appointments, and
advisory councils.
-
Governance Council will meet at least twice a
semester and is chaired by the dean.

Establishes and implements the College’s strategic plan.
-
Oversees the College’s evaluation plan.
-
Advises the dean on budget (new programs, discuss
finances, current/future priorities, etc.).
-
Advises the dean on major space allocation within the
College.
-
Recommends appointment of members to College
administrative committees and to committees of the Medical
Center and University.

Oversees implementation of appropriate recommendations
from advisory councils of the College.
-
Provides for collaborative and collegial relationships
between the College and those intramural and extramural groups
and constituencies which assist the College in achieving its
objectives.

Terms of Office
-
Elected faculty serve staggered two year terms.

A full-time, practice and
part-time faculty member will be elected in even years.

A full-time and research
faculty member will be elected in odd years.
