Carrie Gordy earned an Associate Degree in Nursing from Eastern
Kentucky University in 1972. She completed her bachelor's degree
in nursing in 1991 at the University of Kentucky and received
the Academic Excellence Award. In 1994 she received a Master of
Science degree from the University of Kentucky in parent/child
nursing and went on to receive a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
postgraduate scholar certificate. She is certified by the
American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Gordy has practiced nursing in a variety of settings
including the Emergency Department, Adult and Pediatric
Intensive Care Units, and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. She
served as both the Education Director and the Director of
Nursing for Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital in Siloam Springs,
Arkansas.
Gordy began her clinical teaching assignment in 1994
and in 2000 received the Louise Zegeer Award for Excellence in
Undergraduate Education.
