The nurse-managed clinic at the Hope Center, a shelter for
homeless, adult men, is a cooperative effort between the University
of Kentucky College of Nursing, the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department, and the Hope Center.
The clinic's services are available to homeless and at-risk
individuals in Lexington. Financial support includes a McKinney Health Care for the Homeless grant
via the
Lexington-Fayette County Health Department, the College of Nursing, Saint
Joseph Hospital and the Hope Center.
The clinic, operated by faculty and staff from the College of
Nursing, treats problems often compounded by years of neglect and works
toward prevention of other health problems. In addition to the
community's benefit, students from the College gain valuable clinical
experience working in the clinic.
