Advanced Clinical Practice
The College has an active academic clinical program
in which faculty and professional staff provide excellent
clinical care and learning and research opportunities for
students. Faculty and
professional staff provide clinical services in nearly 30 locations
throughout central and eastern Kentucky.
The College works with inpatient nursing at
University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital, Kentucky Children’s Hospital,
University Health Service, the Center |

for the Advancement of
Women’s Health, and the UK Departments of Psychiatry,
Pediatrics, Family/Community Medicine, Internal Medicine,
Wellness Program and Division of Cardiology.Faculty also work in community-based
clinics, such as the Family Care Center in Lexington, four health
department children's clinics in local elementary schools, and
the Lawrence County Health Department in
Louisa, Ky.
In addition, the College operates the nurse-managed
Good Samaritan Nursing
Center for Health Promotion and Illness Prevention. This
initiative includes individual, family, and population-based care
delivery in 10 different locations, including elementary and
middle schools, and the Hope Center nurse-managed
clinic for the homeless.
