for all
application materials to our undergraduate programs.
Application Procedure for R.N.-B.S.N. Students
To meet the March 1 deadline for fall
admission, the
following materials must be on file with the College of Nursing
(mail to UK College of Nursing, 315 CON Bldg., Lexington, KY
40536-0232):
References
You must submit two references. They must come from a
faculty member and/or an employer or professional colleague. It can be
one from each, or two from the same category. Both individuals
must have known you for at least six months. References from
family members are not acceptable and will not be read.
References must complete the
Reference Form for
Undergraduate Program Applicants.
Goal Statement
In one to three pages (typed, double-spaced) discuss
your reasons for seeking a B.S.N. at this point in your career,
outlining short-term and long-term goals. Discuss one or more
professional issues in your area of interest. Describe a
clinical nursing problem that could be studied and explain the
significance of the problem for nursing practice.
Admission
Final decisions will be made after spring
semester grades are available, in mid-May. If you are a UK
student, you do not need to submit spring grades. If you are
enrolled at another institution, you will need to submit spring
grades. We will accept a grade report or other unofficial
reporting of your grades until a transcript is available.
