Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N. Degree)

The Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N.) program builds on a student's undergraduate degree, and prepares nurses for advanced practice in a chosen specialty. Research utilization, evidence-based practice, and leadership are emphasized throughout the program. Each specialty area's curriculum is tailored to help graduates succeed in a dynamic health care environment.

New learning methods are included, such as a mix of web-based course assignments and face-to-face course work.

The program can be completed in two years of full-time study but part-time study is availablePatient Consultation as well. Schedules are flexible and are geared toward working nurses, with some weekend and evening classes available, some classes that meet once each week, and many other classes that meet only once or twice each month. Your faculty advisor will work with you to determine optimal scheduling that takes into account your individual needs.

The program is ranked 26th in the nation by U.S. News & World Report in its 2008 edition of "America's Best Graduate Schools." (Seven of the institutions ahead of our program are private.)

The program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
