Prerequisites and Sample Curriculum
for Full-Time B.S.N. Four-Year Student

Note: Part-time students must plan courses of study with the appropriate College of Nursing personnel or committee, and may not alter the plan without prior approval from the College. 

First year (pre-nursing)
Students must complete all of the following during the freshman year:  
ANA 109    Anatomy & Physiology for Nursing I
ANA 110  Anatomy & Physiology for Nursing II  

CHE 103  

Chemistry for Health Professionals
ENG 104  Writing: An Accelerated Foundational Course
PSY 100  Introduction to Psychology
University Studies (USP)
Subtotal 30

ANA 109 is offered ONLY in the fall and ANA 110 is offering ONLY in the spring. All of the other courses are available both semesters, so students may choose how to place those courses.

 

Important:
 Application for admission to the Professional Curriculum must be submitted by March 1 of the calendar year in which all nursing prerequisites will be completed. Students must earn at least a "C" in all prerequisite courses, and have a minimum cumulative 2.50 GPA and a minimum science GPA of 2.75 to be considered for admission into the undergraduate nursing program. A nurse aide training course must be completed before the first semester in which the student takes nursing courses.

All courses below must be taken in the semester listed.  Students remain with the cohort to finish in six semesters.

All courses listed must be taken in the semester listed. Because of course content, students cannot take courses for upcoming semesters in order to finish the program early.
