Second Degree B.S.N. Option
March 1 is the deadline
for all
application materials to our undergraduate programs.
Do you wish you'd gone into nursing but your bachelor's is in
something else? Would you like a career with more advancement
potential? Better salary? More variety to your work? More job
security? A career that feels more like a "calling" than
a job? Are you a motivated, dedicated
student?
Then we'd like to talk with you.
The College of Nursing offers you an option to earn a
nursing degree - the Second
Degree B.S.N. (Bachelor of Science in Nursing). This option
is for people who have a bachelor's degree in a field other than
nursing.
In five semesters, you will be prepared to take the
licensure exam to begin a new career as a nurse. This option is for students who
can dedicate themselves full-time to five
semesters of study.
Our B.S.N. program graduates professionals who are ready to
meet the ever-changing challenges of today's health care needs.
Learning through a combination of classroom, laboratory, and
supervised clinical setting instruction, students graduate with a
solid foundation of nursing and health care knowledge. Newly
renovated clinical simulation facilities provide excellent
laboratory learning opportunities.
Most classes are kept small to promote more effective learning.
The student-faculty ratio for undergraduate clinical courses is
no more than 10:1.
Interview process - IMPORTANT
Interviews will be
held Fri., March 28 and Sat., March 29, 2008 for students
applying for fall 2008.
Students will not be
admitted who have not completed an interview, so you must be
available on one of the dates. Applicants will
be selected for interview after an initial screening of the
application and transcript.
References can come at any time prior
to the deadline.
