Failure
to Rescue
Purpose:
This course will
discuss the definition of failure to rescue, what contributes to the
frequency of failure to rescue, and the role of medical emergency
teams.
Objectives:

Describe the role of medical emergency teams related to failure to
rescue.
Target
Audience:
All nurses, particularly emergency and critical care nurses
Faculty: Zebuline Koran, D.N.P., R.N., is a clinical nurse
specialist with the emergency department at Sherman Hospital, Elgin,
Ill. Koran received her D.N.P. from the University of Kentucky College
of Nursing.

Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation
