Purpose: Provide a diabetes update
Objectives:

Discuss the pathogenesis associated with Type 1
and Type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Discuss the predisposing factors in the
development of diabetes.

Describe the various diagnostic studies specific
to diabetes.

Discuss the various classifications of diabetes.

Differentiate between the signs and symptoms of
Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.
