Purpose: Nurse practitioners will
develop skills in diagnostic skin testing and procedures.
Objectives:

describe anatomy of skin

discuss
anatomy of fingers and toes

demonstrate the
following procedures: digital nerve block, nail removal, incision and drainage, shave biopsy, skin tag
removal, punch biopsy, subungual hematoma excision, and
basic suturing
Target audience:
Adult
medical/surgical nurse practitioners
Faculty:
Danny Albertson, ARNP, co-owner, Bluegrass Regional Foot & Ankle Associates. Albertson
provides independent nurse practitioner care for individuals
with podiatric needs.
Chad Sanders, DNP, practitioner, Immediate Care
Center, Owensboro, KY, and a PRN at Medical Center in
Bowling Green, Ky. Sanders performs skin testing and
procedures on a daily basis in his practice.

Requirements for credit:
In order to receive credit,
participants attend the entire CNE activity and submit a credit
application and evaluation form online. Certificates may be
printed once the evaluation is completed.
