Alumni Weekend
Last October classmates from as far back as 1965
gathered for a weekend full of fun and adventures. Good food,
great talks, reminiscing with classmates and a dinner and
demonstration in the new simulated clinical laboratory were
enjoyed by all.

White Coat Ceremony
In March 2006 the UK College of Nursing Alumni
Association sponsored the first (and we hope, annual tradition),
of conferring white laboratory coats on the soon-to-graduate
seniors. There was much excitement and great pride as each
student put on her or his coat while being helped by a member of
the alumni association. Dean Carolyn Williams spoke about the
importance of the tradition of ethics and professionalism that
the white coats represent. She talked about the history of
nurses taking the Nightingale pledge and how that has both
changed and yet remained the same. Each student received a one
year complementary membership to the CONAA and a handwritten
note of welcome and congratulations from an alum.
