Alumni Awards
Every year the College of Nursing Alumni
Association (CONAA) gives alumni
awards to outstanding graduates of the College who are making
significant contributions to the nursing profession. Awards are announced at the annual homecoming/reunion
meeting and breakfast with the dean.
First Decade Award
For the person who holds an undergraduate or
graduate degree from the University of Kentucky College of
Nursing, is currently engaged in the nursing profession, has
been in practice for 10 years or less prior to the annual alumni
meeting, and who has laid the foundation for an exemplary career
in nursing.
Outstanding Alumnus Award
This annual award is presented to an
individual who holds an undergraduate or graduate degree from
the UK College of Nursing who exemplifies a commitment to
support of the College as well as an outstanding career in
nursing.
Criteria for both awards
- Demonstrates excellence and commitment in
the area of nursing for which she/he is nominated
- Significantly contributes to the
improvement of quality nursing practice in the area for
which she/he is nominated
- Demonstrates creative and innovative
approaches in her/his practice area
A nominator must be a graduate of the UK
College of Nursing. All nominations need to include an overview
of the nominee's achievements and accomplishments and why you
believe that he/she is deserving of this honor. If possible, include
background information, resume and other support materials.
