Awards for Alumni
Every year the College of Nursing Alumni
Association (CONAA) gives three alumni
awards, which are announced at the annual homecoming/reunion
dinner.

Awards
First Decade Award
The First Decade Award is given to the person
who has earned a B.S.N. from UK 10 years or less prior to the
annual meeting and meets the award criteria below.
Administration Award
(Rotates among the following areas:
2007-Administration; 2008-Community/Professional
Service; 2009-Education; 2010-Research) For the person who
holds an undergraduate or graduate degree from the University of
Kentucky College of Nursing, is currently involved in or has
recently completed work in administration, and meets the general
award criteria below.
Outstanding Alumnus Award
This award is given to the person who
holds an undergraduate or graduate degree from UK College of
Nursing and who exemplifies a commitment to support of the
College as well as an outstanding career in nursing.
Criteria for all three awards
- Demonstrates excellence and commitment in
the area of nursing for which she/he is nominated
- Significantly contributes to the
improvement of quality nursing practice in the area for
which she/he is nominated
- Demonstrates creative and innovative
approaches in her/his practice area
A nominator must be a graduate of the UK
College of Nursing. All nominations must include the following:
a typed statement describing how the nominee meets the award
criteria for the given area; nominee's curriculum vitae or
resume; supporting statement of recognition by at least one
other person; and the nomination
