STROKE PROGRAM Brain Attack

Our comprehensive stroke program is a key part of the Kentucky Neurosciences Institute. There is a dedicated, JCAHO certified inpatient stroke unit at the Chandler Medical Center. Our stroke service is staffed full-time by our talented vascular neurologists. Leading-edge treatments for ischemic stroke that we can offer include intravenous thrombolysis, intra-arterial thrombolysis, and the endovascular MerciŽ Retrieval System. We also offer clinical trials for eligible stroke patients.

The Cerebrovascular Disorder Clinic is part of the comprehensive stroke program at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. The clinic evaluates patients with stroke or transient ischemic attack and those with a history of stroke risk factors. Several state-of-the-art clinical trials for secondary stroke prevention are available for our patients.
