About LexingtonEstablished over 200 years ago as one of the first settlements west of the Allegheny Mountains, Lexington is a city of 260,000 nestled in the rolling hills of the Kentucky Bluegrass. Known as the Horse Capital of the World, raising some of the finest thoroughbreds in the country, Lexington is continually ranked in the top cities in the United States with regards to quality of life and education. In May 2004, Lexington was rated a five star community for having the best quality of life in the nation. In addition, Lexington's central location makes it quite convenient to travel to many large metropolitan areas.
Blue Grass Airport offers non-stop flights to 13 cities (bluegrassairport.com/nonstop.html) and is serviced by the following airlines: American Eagle, Continental Express, Delta Airlines, Northwest Airlines, United Express and US Airways.
Although it is Kentucky's second largest city, Lexington has retained its small town charm and hospitality. This friendly atmosphere, along with its scenic countryside and plethora of entertainment opportunities, makes Lexington a very pleasant place to live or visit.
