Grimes wins Sullivan Medallion
LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 21, 2008) – William “Bill” Grimes, a UK
College of Health Sciences alumnus and faculty member, will receive the 2008 Algernon Sydney
Sullivan Medallion at UK’s 141st Commencement on Sunday, May 4, in Rupp
Arena. According to an article in the Lexington
Herald-Leader on October 28, 2007, Grimes, a physician assistant and nurse
practitioner, spent more than 20 years treating patients at the Bath County
Medical Clinic in Owingsville. In 2000, he launched the New Hope
Clinic. Grimes also volunteers with the Bath County fire department
and emergency medical service, serves on the board of the Gateway District
Health Department, and often gives speeches to local organizations. He
also is a deacon at St. Julie Catholic Church in Owingsville.
The University of Kentucky College of Health
Sciences consists of nine programs: Athletic Training; Communication
Sciences and Disorders; Physical Therapy; Rehabilitation Sciences PhD
Program; Clinical and Reproductive Sciences; Clinical Nutrition; Physician
Assistant Studies; Radiation Sciences; and Clinical Leadership and
Management.
