McKeon featured in NATA newsletter

The work of Dr. Pat McKeon (Athletic Training) was recently featured in the National Athletic Trainers' Association e-newsletter. To view the grant information summary about Dr. McKeon's research on a balance training program and its effect on ankle instability, click here.

 

Butterfield published

Dr. Tim Butterfield (Athletic Training) was recently published in the Journal of the American College of Sports Medicine. Dr. Butterfield's work is entitled "Stretch-Activated Ion Channel Blockade Attenuates Adaptions to Eccentric Exercise." The article was co-written by Dr. Thomas M. Best (OSU) and can be accessed here.

 

Effgen and Kleinert featured on DavisPTnetwork

Dr. Susan Effgen (Physical Therapy) and Dr. Jane Kleinert (Communication Sciences and Disorders) are two professors featured on DavisPTnetwork, an online continuing education provider. To view the CE courses, click here.

 

Parking Permit Renewal

Parking and Transportation is encouraging employees to apply for their renewal permit using the parking Web site at www.uky.edu/Parking. Parking application cards will not be sent; however, if you need an actual card, please contact Allison Horseman at ext. 80563.

Permits must be renewed no later than March 2, 2009. An instruction sheet can be accessed here.

 

Thanks for wearing red!

Thank you to all CHS faculty and staff members who wore red today to support the American Heart Association's "Wear Red for Women" national campaign. UK HealthCare is planning a giant group picture at 3 p.m. this afternoon on the Rose Street side of the KY Clinic near the Wildcat Deli.  The Chief Photographer from the Herald Leader is planning to be here to take a picture for the newspaper and public relations has invited several of the news stations as well. 

 

W-2 Information

W-2's were mailed on January 31, 2009. If you have not received your W-2's, please check your mail over the next few days. Notify Denise at ext. 80484 if you have not received the forms by the middle of next week.

 

Leadership Class offered for Staff

Join UK Training and Development to explore your leadership characteristics and learn how to become the best leader you can be! More information about the class can be found here. The session will be held in the CHS Commons from 8:30 a.m. to noon. E-mail Allison by February 18 if you plan to attend.
