Associate Dean Charlotte Peterson has been selected to receive a Mentor Recognition Award at the CCTW Spring Conference on Monday, April 08, 2013. She was nominated by several individuals both inside and outside the college for her ongoing and excellent work as a mentor. Please be sure to congratulate Dr. Peterson.

ˇ       Nominations for the 2012 Employee of the Year award are now being accepted. Click here for nomination forms as well as a list of eligible staff members. Please submit nominations to Margo Ubele, or Kristie Bruner, no later than Thursday, April 4th. All nomination forms must be signed and sealed in an envelope. This year’s Employee of the Year Luncheon is scheduled for Thursday, April 18th. Please contact Margo Ubele with any questions.

In honor of National Medical Laboratory Professionals Week, the American Society for Clinical Pathology is hosting Igniting the Spark in Lab Science Video Contest. CHS students of Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) submitted an entry to the contest. How can you help? Each view of the video equals one vote. The video with the most “votes” wins. All you have to do to support the MLS students is watch their video, as many times as you feel like it! View the video here. The contest ends today, March 29, so please view often!

Back to Top Day of Service Deadline Extended

Register today to participate in the CHS Day of Service! The event will take place Friday, April 19 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. with transportation and lunch provided. All faculty, staff and students are invited to participate in this event, which will benefit AVOL, The Nature Conservancy of Kentucky, God's Pantry Food Bank, Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House. Aman Shah, an undergraduate researcher in the lab of Dr. Esther Dupont-Versteegden, has been awarded a Bruce Abstract Award for the Experimental Biology meeting he will be attending in Boston April 20-24. He will also be competing at the meeting for the Bruce Undergraduate Poster Award. Learn more here.

Call for Artists

The 9th Annual International Federation of Medical Students' Association (IFMSA) Art Auction to benefit Shoulder to Shoulder Global (STSG) and the Centro Médico Hombro a Hombro will take place Monday, April 15th, in the Biological-Pharmaceutical Building Atrium, from 12-5pm. Art donations of any medium are being accepted until March 29th. Please consider donating or talking to your artist friends to donate. Click here to see flier.
